Potty Training~ I need HELP!!

This is my first time here on Works For Me Wednesday. I am so excited to participate. I of course have the million dollar question: HOW to POTTY TRAIN a BOY!! Have at it PLEASE tell me the WHAT, the HOW, the WHEN all your knowledge!!! I will love you forever!!
I will give you a brief history.
Jack is 2 1/2
Most all his pre-school class is trained.
He says he DOES NOT want to wear diapers anymore.
He HAS pee-peed and pooped in the potty. He was happy and proud.
He goes a very long time between wet diapers and poops like clock work, same time every day.
When he wears underwear he loves it! But, he doesn’t GO to the potty!
We have a potty seat, a potty and a Peter Potty!!

This sounds just like my son back when I was potty training him. I ended up bribing him! 🙂

I bought the little containers of mini M&M’s for the bathroom. Every time he went to the bathroom ON HIS OWN, he’d get a “Pee Pellet” or a “Poop Pellet” It worked like a charm because it was a special treat for him. He loved it and I loved the fact that he was finally potty trained!

    Good luck!

No tips here… I was hoping to glean some from your comments for myself, LOL! My 3 year-old son wants nothing to do with the potty. ::sigh:: Best wishes!

  3. Michelle says:

Finn was pooping every day for an entire month before turning two, but we didn’t do underwear and peeing on the potty until a month after he turned two. I think the urge to poop was easier for him to recognize. One thing that helped was letting him run around pantsless for a bit in the afternoons, it seems like he recognized then that he had to pee. I will say too that once he started peeing standing up “like daddy” that he seemed to be more into it.

    Lots of luck to you!!

  4. The (Almost) Amazing Mammarino says:

I am potty training my 3rd child right now. They’re all different! Bribery is working like a charm for this one. If I have to remind her to potty and she does, she gets a small treat (1 M&M). If she goes without being reminded, she gets a bunch (or one big treat). Sounds like you’re off to a great start. Good luck!

  5. Mama Bird says:

Thanks to everyone! I will update as we have news!
Yesterday, while out at to lunch he announced he needed to poop! Went to the public bathroom, took off his diaper and pooped in the potty! then told the whole place he pooped in the potty! hysterical
