Frush {review & tasting party}

Yogurt, a staple in Lunchbox love, breakfast, lunch, snack, desert we eat a lot of yogurt at our house!! Recently I was contacted by the makers of Frush, Orgins Food Group that happens to be LOCAL, just right down the road in Statesville! I am all about eating local, spending my money locally and I was just tickled pink to be invited to taste and share frush  with my preschool peeps!! I thought it would be a fun treat for the parents and the kids to get to try FRUSH last Friday morning!

We have about 65 families and I think all but a handful tasted it, kids included! Everyone loved it! I was trying to do a contest with the pre-k letting them vote for their favorite flavor!! Strawberry, Blueberry, Peach and Strawberry/Banana were in fact all delish and the kids couldn't agree on just one!! I personally am in love with the peach. I can't wait to share with you my newest cupcake recipe featuring frush!

Tasting table at preschool

Frush describes themselves as "real fruit and yogurt blended together with healthy extras like probiotics and calcium to create one delicious, grab-n-go super-drink. früsh gives you the chance to live your life a little healthier, without having to rearrange your world to do it. And that feels good. That’s why früsh is more than just a shake, it’s a way of life: yours."

We all loved the fact that frush is a good for you, chopped full of good healthy ingredients, extra calcium, only 200 calories with 9 grams of protein,  great flavor, yummy goodness!!

Check out and " LIKE" the frush facebook page!!

good to the last drop!!

The opinions at soley mine; I received no compensation other than complimentary product to sample.

Who are you to Judge?

Friends-
I am so sad to hear that a local restaurant owner would feel this way but reconize that each person has the right to their own beliefs. With that being said I have had my last meal at Bistro 127.

The following is an email  I received and was written by a good friends father. I hesistate to share this but, feel I would be remiss if I didn't.

In the course of trying to get some in kind donations for an event, one organization decided that a simple "no" didn't suffice. Instead, we received a dissertation about homosexuality being wrong and how this particular business owner would NEVER support homosexuality.

So, in the same spirit, I believe that the Homosexual and gay friendly community should return the favor to this business and simply not support it...

Please consider this BEFORE you spend your money at BISTRO 127 or DAYLIGHT DONUTS in Hickory, NC.
And on a personal note:
Please join me and my family in voting against the discriminatory constitutional amendment on the May 2012 NC primary ballot that not only makes unconstitutional same sex marriage, but also outlaws civil union and domestic partnership for both same sex and heterosexual couples, even though the ballot only deceptively makes reference to marriage. 4 weeks....

Where has the time gone? It is APRIL, EASTER, SPRING. 4 weeks from now is Hubs and my VACATION. 5 weeks from now ANNIE Z'S WEDDING. 6 weeks from now BCB/APP GIRLS REUNION. What does my social calender have to do with anything? Well, it is cruch time!
How much can I de-puff in a month? According to a few 15 lbs is realistic and CAN HAPPEN!! I read a ton of articles and here is my cliff notes version of HOW to DO IT!! I mean do you want to know all the reasons, I don't really care! I just want to DO it!!!

1. NO Added Sugar or Fat
2. No Soda or Sweets
3. Drink tons of water
4. EXERCISE, alot

Now my list of how I (and take this with a grain of salt, a wing and  a prayer and the fact that I will check in with my doctor, a real legit doctor the same one I would go to if I was to have chest pains, not a "fat doctor"!)

1. Drink protein shakes:
M-Th for all meals
Fri- brekfast & lunch
Sat & Sun- breakfast only
2. Drink TONS of water
3. NO COKE ZERO (this will be hardest for me!)
4. ZUMBA at least once a week (it is so bad for my knee but, i enjoy it more than any other form of exercise!) Walk, skip, hop anything to move as much as physically possible.

I will weigh in on Monday and every Monday for the next 6 weeks. Just maybe it will happen and I will be able to get a great, frame worthy pic of me & hubs on vaca, the HHS Girls at Annie's Wedding and my college girls. How great would that be?

blogging > camping

I just read a great post on Tips for a Better Blog and really took into account what Jen was saying. You know I really want to be a big time blogger. I would love to have zillions of people cooking dinner with me! But, like everything else in my life I am so random! I have 3 jobs ( teach preschool, bake and cater, and do amazing hair color!) am a Mom to a freaking wild 4 yr old who is as busy as a bumble bee, wife to a cranky yet good as gold to put up with me, my mood swings, crazy harebrained  ideas, spastic  & ocd ways. Bless him. He works all the time, is rarely home, would rather hunt, fish, play in the woods, seriously he is country. He likes to camp and be dirty. My idea of camping is staying at a cheep hotel. I kid you not, I am not a camper, never have been, never went as a kid, never.  I  have no desire at this age to sleep anywhere that isn’t as pleasant as my own bed. Really. I went to tons of Forest Parties, backpacked across Europe, slept in hostels, and went to summer camp! But at not yet 40. Ahh, NO thank-you anyway. I am good.

Some of Jen’s tips really hit home I am going to try and take her tips and see if I too can grow my blog. What do you think?
