No bake Pup Treats

Y’all seriously, we switched Trixie to a grain free dog food after a suggestion from a friend and we saw a TOTAL change in our dog! Like night and day she is so much calmer and her coat , so shiny!

In comes treats! Buying quality treats are quite pricey and yesterday when helping a friend find a recipe for homemade dog treats I thought, I should make Trixie treats! All the recipes I found used either flour or oats. I went with oats! Here goes my super simple, no bake pup treats.

Pumpkin Treats

3 cups oatmeal, blitzed in food processor

1 cup pumpkin purée

3 tablespoons peanut butter

2 tablespoons honey

Blitz the oats in food processor, dump 2 cups in a big bowl, reserve 1 cup to the side to roll treats in. Add pumpkin, peanut butter, & honey to food processor and blitz until smooth. Dump pumpkin mix into oats and mix. You can add more of the oats if it’s not thick enough to scoop out. I used a mini cookie scoop to make them all apx the same size and rolled in the remaining oats so they would hold the shape and wouldn’t stick together. Store in the fridge for up to a month easily, probably longer, but who am I kidding treats don’t last long at our house, even the dogs!
